MINIATURE ARCHITECTURE
In 2006, when the founders of AMOD decided to leave the architectural trade and start a model building company, it was not because they didn’t like architecture.
On the contrary: they believed design and creation are somewhat of a human necessity. It was just the painfully long process that goes into making life-size buildings that caused headaches. So instead, they decided to make very small buildings: and thus AMOD was born.
Now our projects last about 4 weeks. The process allows for lots of creativity in order to translate 2D ideas for large structures into 3D miniature models, eventually resulting in a beautiful product. A product that moves people, that gives people insight, that makes architects win competitions or makes potential buyers decide on their first home.
A diversity of clients gives us an opportunity to practice a plethora of skills: from abstracting the essence of an architectural design and working with the architect to turn his design into a stand-alone artwork, to creating life-like models for real estate developers complete with streetlights and tiny white picket fences. Some projects reach far beyond both our cultures: making museum pieces of historical architecture in Kuwait, building on a developing judicial system in the shape of a new courthouse in Accra (Ghana) or constructing a model for government approval of a new Arab Cultural Center in Uzbekistan.
These challenges, diversity and cultural complexities keep us passionate, involved and creatively satisfied. Qualities that we transfer to our craftsmen and colleagues who make our company into what it is today.

All AMOD’s owners and project managers are Architecture graduates or above. We understand design and we understand what it takes to sell a project. We are here to understand the needs behind your project and execute accordingly.

Our project managers all speak at least 2 languages, sometimes 3 or more. Feel free to contact us in English, Dutch, Chinese or written French and German. We might respond in English, but we are sure to understand what you need.

If you have a tight deadline, don’t worry. We’ll get the job done. As long as we know the scope of the model and understand what documents we have and what we need to improvise we can create your model in a jiffy. We’ve create cities in mere weeks and large exhibition centers in days.
